Openfire is an Open Source real time collaboration server for instant messaging (XMPP). Its simple to setup and administer. If setting up the transport system to use your own message server then use Openfire as we use it in development and can help support you.

Our development xmpp server is available for trial purposes.

Please note that the mobile application can not logon to Google Talk, you can use gtalk accounts for desktop users.
